Tragant (Astragalus) ist eines der selten erhältlichen Räucherharze. Tragant gehört zu den Schmetterlingsblütlern und ist über den größten Teil der nördlichen Halbkugel verbreitet. Das Harz wird aus unterschiedlichen Astralgus-Arten durch Einritzen der Stämme und Zweige gewonnen. Beim Blut-Tragant handelt es sich um eine selten vorkommende Variante mit roten Einschlüssen.

Tragant wird wie Gummi Arabicum als Bindemittel bei der Herstellung von Räucherstäbchen und Räucherkegeln verwendet. Es verströmt beim Räuchern einen angenehmen, holzig-würzigen Duft, der leicht reinigend, ausgleichend und und die Seele erwärmend wirkt. Sehr erdend!

Im Mittelalter wurde Tragant in vielen Kirchenweihrauchmischungen verwendet.

Bitte vor dem Räuchern im Mörser zerkleinern.
